Hippie Living Day 2

Sunday, November 29th, 2009

So far, this hippie thing has been pretty easy. The real test will start tomorrow when classes begin again. I can only imagine how hard it will be to find sugar-free food in our cafeteria!

Speaking of classes, I’m totally kicking myself for not taking more homework with me to Grandma and Grandpa’s over Thanksgiving break. Sure, it was great to get away, but I don’t like the load of stuff I have to cram in now. Here’s a list of my upcoming assignments and when they are due:

Theory Homework
Due Monday (tomorrow)

5 Listening Journals (two pages each, minimum)
Due Wednesday

Final Draft of my Music Composition
Due Wednesday

German Homework
Due Wednesday

Ear Training Homework
Due Thursday

Oral Report
Presenting Thursday

German Exam
On Friday

5 page essay
Due before finals

AUGH!

On a nicer note, I had three sugar-free meals today. They were yummie! But that’s about all I did, hippie-wise.

Well, I need to get cracking on some more homework…

P.S. KUDOS to Kassandra and Rebekah for joining me in this hippie, sugar-free lifestyle!

Hippie Living Day 1

Saturday, November 28th, 2009

3:30 PM (I am ignoring 12:00 AM through 3:29 PM due to their lack of hippie-ness.) Showered with a bar of handmade soap, a handknitted washcloth (made by yours truly), and a handmade shampoo bar.

Hippie plans for the rest of the day:
Drink a cup or two of herbal tea
Burn a handmade hazelnut coffee candle and listen to these songs while working on homework
Read from my Bible (Psalms and Isaiah), journal, and do some yoga before bed

Hippie plans for the week:
(try to) Fast from all foods containing sugar from sugar cane, high fructose corn syrup, preservatives, and dyes
Fast from facebook (I’ll use twitter, skype, and old fashioned email instead)
Continue implementing Hippie-ish things into my everyday life
